Dear Parents,

I am pleased to announce the Kings Junior High School Jazz Band has been selected to perform at the Governor's Art Show in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, May 8^th , 2008. We will play at the Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street at 10:45 AM. After our concert, we will tour the Ohio State University Campus and observe a rehearsal of the OSU Jazz Ensemble. We should return to the Kings Junior High School by 5:30 PM. I feel it will be a very exciting and rewarding experience for all of us.

Students will need the following for the trip:

1) Permission slip signed by parent/guardian.

2) Lunch money for Wendy's and a snack.

3) Dress nicely, KJHS music shirts, sneakers and shorts

4) Instrument and Music (sax reeds).

5) Good Behavior (Remember, you are representing KJHS.)

6) Rain gear……just in case!

Thursday, May 8, 2008 Itinerary:

8:15 AM Students help load bus.

8:20 AM Depart from school for Columbus.

10:20 AM Arrive at State Office Tower, Columbus, begin setup.

10:45 AM KJH Jazz Band begins concert.

11:15 AM Tear down and load bus.

11:30 AM Depart for the Ohio State University.

11:45 AM Arrive at OSU, have lunch and tour campus.

2:30 PM Observe the OSU Jazz Ensemble.

3:30 PM Depart for KJHS.

5:30 PM Arrive at KJHS, help unload.
